The television debut of Big Ten Icons, airs Saturday at 3pm CT on the Big

Ten Network.  The 30-minute show spotlights Big Ten Icon #20, former Michigan star and 1997 Heisman Trophy winner and current Green Bay Packer Charles Woodson.

The 20-episode series, hosted by the legendary broadcaster Keith Jackson, continues at 8pm CT every Tuesday night through the end of the football season and into the spring.  The No. 1 Big Ten Icon will be revealed around the 2011 Big Ten Men’s Basketball Tournament.  The program is counting down the top 50 student-athletes in Big Ten history, based solely on their collegiate playing careers.

Among the top 50 Big Ten Icon’s already announced are former Purdue and Milwaukee Bucks star Glenn Robinson at #35.  Former Packer and Michigan University star Desmond Howard is at #34.  Wisconsin Badger football standout Alan Ameche is in at #30, and Badger Elroy “Crazylegs” Hirsch is in at #25.

In this Saturday’s episode on the Big Ten Network, Woodson will discuss his first experience as a wide receiver at Michigan, as well as his knack for making big plays.
