The Green Bay Phoenix and Wright State Raiders moved into the Horizon League semifinals on Monday night at Joe Louis Arena in Detroit.
The four-seed Green Bay knocked off fifth-seed Milwaukee 70-61 on Sunday. Carrington Love led the Phoenix with 16 points and six assists in the victory.
The Panthers opened a six point lead in the second half, but the Phoenix went on a nine-to-nothing run to go up 55-52 and never trailed again.
Green Bay moved into the Horizon League semifinals against top-seed Valparaiso at 6 p.m. on Monday night.
#3 Wright State 82, #6 Detroit 72
Senior forward JT Yoho led the Raiders with 20 points as the No. 3 Wright State Raiders knocked off No. 6 Detroit Titans, 82-72, in the second game on Sunday.
Wright State led by 16-points midway through the first half, but Detroit came storming back to within two-points with six-minutes left in the first half. The Titans shot 50% from the field in the first half, yet still trailed the Raiders 37-29 at halftime.
Wright State built a 17 point lead to start the second half and was never really challenged from there.
The Raiders advanced to face number-two seed Oakland in Monday’s semifinals at 8:30 p.m.
