stoutThe University of Wisconsin Stout expects to report record enrollment again this year. School officials expect the preliminary headcount to exceed 9,500 students for the first time in the school’s history.

Over the last 20 years, UW-Stout’s enrollment has grown by 31 percent, outpacing the overall UW System growth of 14 percent.

UW-Stout Registrar Scott Correll said the university exceeded its goals for new freshmen and transfer students and saw a significant increase in online students. Chancellor Bob Meyer said one attraction is a number of programs that are not available elsewhere in Wisconsin or the Midwest. He is also pleased that 56 students are already enrolled in UW-Stout’s new mechanical engineering program.
