The Milwaukee Brewers fell 27-games under .500 on the road with a 3-2 loss to the Cubs in Chicago last night. The Cubs swept the 2-game series after winning the first night 14-6. Former Brewers catcher Henry Blanco, who had four hits and four rbi's in the Tuesday night opener, singled home the game winner with the bases loaded in the bottom of the 9th last night. Freddie Bynum had tied the game in the 9th with a solo homer. Both runs came off of Brewers closer Francisco Cordero, who blew a save opportunity for the first time since coming over from the Rangers in the Carlos Lee deal. He had been a perfect 16 for 16 prior to last night. It spoiled another solid outing for starter Dave Bush who allowed just a run on 3 hits in 8 innings of work. The Brewers will open the final series of the season, a 4-game set in St. Louis tonight. They'll have a chance to play spoiler. The Cardinals have a slim 1 1/2 game lead on Houston in the NL Central.
