Congressman Mark Green may end up wishing he'd abided by an Elections Board ruling.

That's according to Mike McCabe of the Wisconsin Democracy Campaign, who filed the original complaint that led to the ruling against the Green campaign. “Federal law prohibits any contributions from a federal committee to a state committee of more than a little over $43,000,” said McCabe. He said that calls into question virtually all of the $1.3 million which Green transferred from his congressional campaign to his campaign for governor.

The Green campaign said Monday that they intend to pursue an appeal of the elections board ruling, all the way to the state Supreme Court.
