Gas prices are dropping quickly across the state.

The state average price per gallon has dropped nearly 80-cents in just one month now at 2-39 a gallon according to Pam Moen with Triple A Wisconsin.

Moen says the drop in the price of crude oil is the biggest factor but nothing else has really changed. The mideast is still volatile. Domestic refinery capacity hasn't really changed and part of the Alaska pipeline is still shut down.

Moen says while 2-39 a gallon seems like a relief now, it's still a pretty steep price to pay for a gallon of gas and it could turn around and go up again without much notice.
