Some praise, and skepticism, over Governor Doyle's latest health care plan.
Governor Doyle's BadgerChoice health insurance plan is “commendable,” according to Bill Smith of the Wisconsin Federation of Independent Business. The proposal would create an insurance pool for small employers and individuals to bring about more competition and lower costs.
Smith says the Governor is focusing on cost, something they've been talking about for some time as well. However, Smith is critical of the Governor's plans to expand coverage and mandated benefits. He says the state should be focusing on lowering the cost of health care.
The Governor announced his initiative during his State of the State address.
