For the third time this season, Green Bay women’s basketball forward Mehryn Kraker was named the Horizon League Freshman of the Week today.

In the final weekend of the regular season, Kraker averaged 14.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.5 blocks a game in wins over Oakland and Detroit.  She finished the weekend shooting over 50% from the field and from distance, going 10 for 15 from the field and 4 of 7 from three-point range.

Kraker is averaging 9.4 points and 3.7 rebounds a game for the season.

Green Bay has now taken home freshman of the week accolades seven times this season with Tesha Buck earning the other four.

Green Bay opens the postseason on Wednesday as the top seed in the Horizon League Tournament.  It will face either No. 8 Detroit or No. 9 Valparaiso at the Kress Events Center at 7pm.
