071316ClintonTrumpThe final Marquette University Law School poll to be released before Election Day shows Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton maintaining her lead over Republican nominee Donald Trump.

The poll, released Wednesday afternoon, showed Clinton with 46 percent of likely voters backing her, and 40 percent saying they plan to vote for Trump. The poll marked just a one point shift between Clinton and Trump from one released in mid-October, which had her ahead by seven points.

Libertarian candidate Gary Johnson polled at four percent, while Green Party nominee Jill Stein was at three percent.

The poll, conducted over a six day period, was in the field when news broke Friday about FBI Director James Comey sending a letter to Congress, which indicated new emails tied to an investigation into Clinton’s use of a private email server while serving as Secretary of State may have been uncovered. While the poll found more than half of the respondents are bothered a lot by the scandal, it only appeared to have about a one point impact on Clinton’s overall support.

The poll of 1,401 registered voters was conducted October 26-31. It has a margin of error of 3.3 percent.
