Milwaukee police have released more details about weekend shootings that left seven people dead. The deaths bring the city’s preliminary homicide total to 16 so far this year. The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel summarized the weekend’s gun violence.

Police have identified suspects in all of the cases, including the murders of a woman and two men on the south side Sunday night: 40-year-old Jesus R. Manso-Perez, 36-year-old Phia Vue and 32-year-old Mai K. Vue. A 39-year-old man was arrested.

Earlier on Sunday a pregnant 23-year-old woman was fatally shot by a 24-year-old woman who came to the victim’s house to settle an argument. The child did not survive. Police identified the victim as Tamecca A. Perry, and said the suspect was still being sought.

On Saturday, a woman and her 12-year-old son were shot and killed inside a home. They were identified as 45-year-old Hermalinda Arvelo and her son Arturo. The woman’s adult step-daughter, identified as 41-year-old Carmen T. Arvelo-Schwingle, killed herself a short while later and was identified as the suspect.

At the same point last year, 22 homicides had been recorded in Milwaukee.
