The Packers got to the NFL's mandatory 75 player roster limit by the 3pm deadline on Tuesday. They waived a total of 8 players and placed linebacker Kurt Campbell and safety Marviel Underwood on injured reserve. They also claimed free agent kicker E.J. Cochrane off waivers from the Philadelphia Eagles. The only veteran on the cut list is cornerback Jerron Wishom. The rest of the list included undrafted rookie free agents Calvin Russell, fullback A.J. Cooper, defensive end Montez Murphy and long snapper Thomas Gafford. Also released were QB Brian Wrobel, WR Chad Lucas and DT Jerome Nichols, all three of whom competed in NFL Europe. Cochrane had been on the Eagles roster during training camp, but had no real chance to beat out Pro Bowl kicker David Akers. Cochrane kicked collegiately at Montana State for four years. He spent last year out of football before signing with Atlanta earlier this spring.
