The Senate Organization Committee votes to allow lawmakers to consider right-to-work legislation (SB-44) in an extraordinary session. The 3-2 vote Monday was along party lines, with Republicans Scott Fitzgerald (chair), Mary Lazich, and Paul Farrow in favor and Democrats Jennifer Shilling and Dave Hansen against.

The Senate Labor Committee is scheduled to hold a public hearing on Tuesday beginning at 10 a.m., followed by a vote at its conclusion — possibly as late as 7 p.m. The measure will then be sent to the full Senate, which is expected to begin debate on Wednesday.

Opponents of the legislation have various rallies scheduled throughout the week.
