Dan McCarty
St. Norbert College has a new head football coach today. Steve Opgenorth has resigned his position after just one season. The school promoted Defensive Coordinator Dan McCarthy to the post effective immediately.
McCarthy just finished his first season as the Green Knights’ defensive coordinator. McCarthy’s collegiate experience includes coaching at UW-Stout from 2007-2010, where he coached offensive line and defensive line, and was the Blue Devils’ defensive coordinator in 2010.
McCarthy, who was Southern Door High School’s head coach in 2013, also coached at his prep alma mater, Sturgeon Bay High School from 2003-2006 and again in 2011. In his first stint with the Clippers, McCarthy aided Sturgeon Bay to the 2004 WIAA Division 4 state championship as the offensive coordinator.
