Wisconsin residents have many opportunities to get “money smart” next week.

Secretary of the Department of Financial Institutions Lorrie Keating Heinemann, who was keynote speaker Manitowoc Money Smart Week Wisconsin kick-off breakfast this morning, said it's family financial literacy campaign with some 400 events throughout the state, October 2nd through 7th.

A recent report indicates low financial literacy among incoming college freshman, and Heinemann says rankings from the National JumpStart Coalition for Financial Literacy show plenty of room for improvement here in Wisconsin.
