Brewers logoThe Milwaukee Brewers will recall their top prospect, Orlando Arcia, from Class AAA Colorado Springs.  He could be in the starting lineup tonight when the Brewers face the San Diego Padres in game two of their three game series.

Arcia will take over as the Brewers primary shortstop for the remainder of the season.  Jonathan Villar will move to third base.

The Brewers still have 58 games left and are looking to give Arcia some quality experience going into next year.

At Colorado Springs, Arcia was hitting .267 with eight home runs and 53 RBI.  He was selected to play in the Triple-A All-Star Game in mid-July, but opted out for personal reasons.

Villar moves to third base after committing a team-high 17 errors.  But he’s been a spark on offense, taking over the leadoff spot and hitting .293 with eight homers and 38 RBI.  He also leads the Major Leagues with 39 stolen bases.

Hernan Perez had been playing third base for the Brewers.  He’s expected to move around and get most of his playing time in the outfield.
