Wisconsin health officials have discovered two pieces to the national ecoli outbreak puzzle.
State health officials isolated the actual ecoli bacteria in two bags of Dole Baby Spinach sold in the state. Eva Robelia with the health department says those two bags, together with three others found around the country are an important step. Robelia says it should help track down exactly where the contamination started.
And while the state reports one or two new cases of ecoli infection a day, it doesn't mean the outbreak is still going on. Robelia says it takes weeks before the testing process is complete. Someone goes to the doctor, has a sample taken. it goes to the lab and then there's final confirmation that someone has an ecoli infection linked to eating spinach.
Robelia says while a case or two may still surface, we are over the peak.
