The Youngstown State women’s basketball team used 9 and 7 point runs in the second half to knock off the Green Bay Phoenix 72-63 at the Kress Events Center on Sunday.

The win moved the Penguins into a first place tie with the Phoenix and Wright State atop the Horizon League standings at 9-3.  Green Bay was swept by a conference opponent for the first time since Milwaukee did it in the 2005-06 season.  It also snapped an eight game winning streak for Green Bay.

Green Bay returns to action Thursday with a road contest at Wright State.  The Lady Raiders will also face Youngstown State in the final two weeks of the regular season.
