An early morning shooting incident in Forest County has left at least 6 young people dead, including the suspect, a 20 year old sheriff's deputy.

Initial reports were that one person was killed at a house in Crandon at around 3:00 am Sunday, but a county board supervisor says it's believed at least five persons, between the ages of 16 and 20, were killed. The suspect, identified as Forest County Sheriff's Deputy Tyler Peterson, was reported by the Oconto Co. Sheriff's Department to have been shot to death. Details on where and when Peterson was killed were not immediately available.

Crandon is a community of 2,000 people, about 75 miles northeast of Wausau.
