Severe weather still in Wisconsin on Friday (UNDATED)

Severe weather in the forecast for today. After storms knocked out power across Southeast Wisconsin on Thursday and dumped 7 inches of rain on parts of Northeast Wisconsin, more storms are in the forecast for Friday. The National Weather Service in Green Bay says most of eastern Wisconsin is at risk for strong storms with large hail and damaging winds. Crowley, Tiffany both make Flock Safety part of governor campaigns (UNDATED)

Both candidates for Governor have made Flock Safety an issue in their campaigns. Milwaukee County executive David Crowley and Congressman Tom Tiffany are both calling for regulation and limits on the automated license plate reader company. While neither is calling for an outright ban, the two candidates differ on their approach. Tiffany wants to see state funding for the camera systems paused while his office explores ways to protect personal safety. Crowley is already pushing for reforms in Milwaukee County, where several instances of abuse by police have come to light.

Expect more traffic, higher gas prices this weekend (UNDATED)

Expect higher gas prices for the Labor Day weekend. Triple-A Wisconsin says regular unleaded gas is currently about 84 cents a gallon higher than last year at 3 dollars 82 cents a gallon. Expect the most traffic on the roads Friday as people head out for vacation. While most construction projects will be paused, drivers in southeast Wisconsin can still expect major delay in the Milwaukee area along parts of Interstates 94, 41 and 43. Check with Wisconsin 5 1 1 before you leave to see how the traffic is.
