Candidate for Wisconsin Governor Tom Tiffany plans to keep all campaign commitments this week following his close call over the weekend – but the congressman won’t be in Washington right away. Tiffany briefed media in Wausau on Sunday after he and his pilot were rescued from Lake Wausau Saturday night when their light plan stalled short of the downtown airport.
“So the doctors have instructed me not to fly for a few days here, so I will not be able to make it to D.C. over the next couple days,” he said.

Democrat David Crowley said his campaign remains on the ground. “I don’t have access to any pilots or to a private plane. And so anytime that I’m traveling all across the state of Wisconsin, it’s been by vehicle,” Crowley said. He also wished Tiffany well. “We may be political opponents, but we’re still human.”
Tiffany and the pilot, Langlade County Republican chairman Leonard Boltz both sustained minor injuries.
