President Trump announces federal disaster relief for Wisconsin. In a Wednesday post to his Truth Social platform, Trump said he told Republican
candidate for governor, Congressman Tom Tiffany, that he will be approving $17.9 million for the severe storms and tornadoes that Wisconsin has experienced.
In a statement, Tiffany said he’s been in regular contact with the administration, and thanked Trump for the funding. Congressman Glenn Grothman also released a statement thanking the president.
Governor Tony Evers requested a federal disaster declaration following the EF-3 tornado and severe storms which struck Menasha and other Fox Valley communities on July 27. An Evers spokesperson said they “have zero additional information beyond the content of the president’s post.”
