A new analysis claims we're contributing more to global warming. Wisconsin Public Interest Research Group reviewed Department of Energy data which indicated pollution, from coal fired power plants and motor vehicles, has skyrocketed in Wisconsin over the past fifteen years, up 25% between 1990 and 2004. WISPIRG State Director Dan Kohler said the state should adopt mandatory, science based limits on pollution, and focus on renewable and conservation instead of coal-fired power plants. Longterm, WISPERG calls for ambitious reductions of pollution generated in Wisconsin, by at least 15% to 20% percent by 2020, and at least 80% by 2050.
