A 17-year-old with ties to Janesville and Madison is in custody, after Janesville Police learned he was in the area. Deputy Police Chief Dave Moore says the Madison Police Department requested that Tremell Marshall be taken into custody for numerous charges. "Our information was that he was wanted, and that he was potentially armed with a handgun," says Moore. "Once we responded to the apartment, he refused to answer the door, and barricaded the door."
Moore says the standoff at the apartment of Marshall's mother lasted for about two hours Tuesday. "When the SWAT team contacted Marshall, he was aware that our canine unit was nearby, and told the officers that he didn't want to get bit," says Moore. After surrendering peacefully, Marshall was turned over to Madison detectives. He faces domestic violence charges including substantial battery, strangulation, stalking and second degree recklessly endangering safety.
