The head of the state Assembly’s Labor Committee is raising concerns about labor strife in the NFL.
State Representative Chris Sinicki (D-Milwaukee) has written to Green Bay Packers President Mark Murphy, arguing against the possibility of NFL owners will locking out players in 2011 if a collective bargaining agreement isn’t reached.
Sinicki says Wisconsin taxpayers have put a lot of money into remodeling Lambeau Field, and a lock-out could result in a lot of lost revenue. In her letter, she asks Murphy not to “gamble” with a players lock-out.
Sinicki says she remembers the ill will from fans that hurt Major League Baseball for several years after the players’ strike.
