Wisconsin teachers Chicago bound

Wisconsin teachers are headed to Chicago, for a show of solidarity with striking Chicago Teachers Union members. They’ll rally at the state Capitol in Madison prior to hitting the road.

Milwaukee Teachers Education Association President Bob Peterson expects a couple hundred Wisconsin teachers to make the trip for what’s being billed as a “Wisconsin-style” rally.

Wisconsin was the center of a national debate over union rights last year, when Republican Governor Scott Walker proposed effectively ending collective bargaining for teachers and other public sector workers.
