A fire at a mobile home Park in Mosinee Sunday night left one man dead. Mosinee Fire Chief Josh Klug said firefighters were not initially aware someone was inside the building. “It was initially determined that there was nobody in the building at the time.” He says the Marathon County Sheriff’s Department later determined that there may be a victim inside.” Klug said. “Once the fire was extinguished, crew members were able to get inside and do a search of the building, where they were able to locate one fatality.”
Klug said the State Fire Marshall has already been on the scene, and they may never know the exact cause of the fire. The middle-aged male victim’s name is being withheld pending notification of family. The fire began just after 7:00 p.m. Sunday night, and lasted until early Monday morning, which was Klug’s first official day as the Mosinee Fire Chief.
