The Green Bay Packers will still wear their throwback uniforms for their Oct. 20 game
against the Cleveland Browns at Lambeau Field, but there’ll be one change.
Instead of wearing the brown helmets that go with the throwbacks, they’ll wear the normal gold helmets without the stripe or “G” logo.
The NFL sent a directive to all 32 teams around the league, saying for health and safety reasons, the league wanted players to wear their normal helmets rather than special ones to match the throwbacks.
The league’s Head, Neck and Spine Committee and Players Safety Advisory Panel had made the recommendation.
