Junior forward Kenneth Lowe scored a career high 23 points and pulled down nine rebounds, but it wasn’t enough to prevent the Green Bay Phoenix from falling to 0-2, dropping a 103-90 decision to East Tennessee State early this morning.
The matchup was part of the annual 24 hour season tip-off marathon aired on ESPN2.
The Phoenix gave up 100 points in a game for the first time since 2004.
Senior guard Carrington Love had another strong performance, finishing with 22 points.
Green Bay led 15-4 early, but ETSU went on a 31-11 run and eventually went into the halftime break with a 48-41 lead over the Phoenix.
Jordan Fouse had his ninth double-double of his career, finishing with 15 points and 13 rebounds. The senior also added four assists and five steals.
Green Bay’s challenging early season schedule continues this week as the Phoenix travels to Atlanta to take on Georgia Tech (2-0) on Thursday night.
