June 27, 2006 By WRN Contributor

Wisconsin senior associate athletic director, Doug Beard, has been elected third vice-president of the Collegiate Athletic Business Management Association (CABMA). Beard was named to the post at the recently concluded CABMA meetings in New Orleans. Beard will become the organization's president in 2009. CABMA, composed of more than 500 memebers from college athletic departments in the U.S., Canada and Mexico, is devoted to the establishment, maintenance and implementation of the highest standards of integrity and efficiency in the scope, policies and procedures involved in the management and administration of intercollegiate athletics. Beard is the third administrator from Wisconsin to serve on CABMA's executive committee.
