U.S. Bank Championship Starts Today

July 27, 2006 By WRN Contributor

Today is the first round of the U.S. Bank Championship in Milwaukee. The state's “Big Four” PGA golfers are playing once again this year. JP Hayes, Steve Stricker and Skip Kendall all have morning tee times at Brown Deere Park. Jerry Kelly will start his first round this afternoon. Another state golfer in the field is DePere's Nick Gilliam. He made the cut last year at the event and has been given a sponsor's exemption to this year's tournament. He says that you have to hit fairways and putt well to score low at the tournament. Ben Crane is the defending champion.
