McCann leads Braves past Brewers

August 14, 2006 By WRN Contributor

Brian McCann homered and drove in four runs to lead the Atlanta Braves to a 7-4 win over the Milwaukee Brewers in Atlanta on Sunday. The win gave the Braves the series, taking 2 out of 3. Tony Graffanino's 2-run double in the top of the 7th helped the Brewers rally from a 4-1 deficit to tie the game 4-4. But a defensive miscue by Graffanino opened the flood gates for the Braves to score 3-runs in the bottom half of the 7th, sending Atlanta to victory. Matt Wise allowed all three 7th inning runs, but all were unearned. Bob Wickman worked the 9th for his 7th save in seven chances for the Braves. Jeff Cirillo had three hits in the loss for the Brewers, who open a 3-game series in Pittsburgh against the Pirates tonight.
