Brewers close out home schedule with sweep of Giants

September 25, 2006 By WRN Contributor

The Milwaukee Brewers closed out the home portion of their schedule on Sunday with their 5th straight win, 5-3 over the San Francisco Giants. At 48-33, the Brewers compiled their best home record since they went 53-28 in 1992. Unfortunately, the Brewers have struggled on the road, going 25-50 away from Miller Park, with six games to go. Ben Sheets tossed eight solid innings for the Brewers to improve to 6-7. Catcher Mike Rivera broke a 2-2 tie in the sixth with a bases loaded, three run double. The Brewers are off today. They'll face the Cubs in Chicago on Tuesday night.
