Herron expected to get Morency's reps at running back

October 31, 2006 By WRN Contributor

The Green Bay Packers learned that halfback Vernand Morency will probably miss at least two games because of a lower back injury and starting fullback Brandon Miree will likely miss this Sunday's game at Buffalo because of a hyperextended left elbow.

Miree's absense will allow veteran William Henderson to move back into the starting lineup after losing his starting job in week 4.  With Morency out, Noah Herron , who already has a 100-yard rushing day this season, will work behind starter Ahman Green .

Morency has been a good fit in the Packers zone running scheme.  He's gained 230 yards and is averaging 4.3 yards a carry.

The Packers have said  they may look to sign another runningback to add some depth for the next few weeks.
