Badger women hoops fall for first time

November 29, 2006 By WRN Contributor

The Wisconsin women's basketball team (6-1) was defeated for the first time this season.  The Lady Badgers dropped a 52-50 decision at U-C Riverside Tuesday night.  Junior Danielle Ward tallied a double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds, her first of the season.

Junior Jolene Anderson, who shot a miserable 2 for 15 from the field, finished the game with five points.  Anderson's streak of 35 consecutive games in double-figure scoring ended against the Highlanders.

The Badgers played at less than full strength with four players suffering flu-like symptoms during the past 24 hours, including both of the teams point guards.  Neither Rae Lin D'Alie or Sarah Ingison attended shootaround and both played limited minutes in the loss.
