A Racine Unified School District first grader was sexually assaulted this week. Racine Police Sgt. Michael Polzin says the intruder assualt took place Tuesday in a bathroom at the Red Apple School. Polzin said an examination at Children's Hospital of Wisconsin confirmed that the 6 year old boy had been sexually assaulted.
Students took a letter home from school administration, reportedly explaining how a normally secure door was affected by the weather, which is how the intruder apparently got into the building. [ WRJN 's Janet Hoff contributed this report]
