Bush pitches Brewers to win over Astros

April 23, 2007 By WRN Contributor

Dave Bush worked into the 9th and helped the Milwaukee Brewers knock off the Houston Astros 4-3 at Miller Park on Sunday.  Bush entered the 9th with a 4-0 lead, then ran into trouble.  Francisco Cordero had some shaky moments in relief but held on for the win.  All three runs were charged to Bush, who ended by giving up 5-hits.  He's 2-1 and improved to 3-0 lifetime against Houston.

Roy Oswalt (3-1) ailed in his attempt to win his 10th straight decision, a streak that datedback to Aug. 23rd, 2006.  Oswalt gave up four runs and seven hits in seven innings.

Bill Hall homered for one of his three hits.  Geoff Jenkins also collected three hits for the Brewers, who have a game and a half lead on the Houston Astros for the Central Division lead.

Milwaukee opens up a 3-game series in Chicago against the Cubs tonight.  They'll face Cubs ace Carlos Zambrano tonight.  It was Zambrano who dissed the Brewers after a win earlier this season.
