Packers won't offer Stocco a contract

May 9, 2007 By WRN Contributor

Former Badger quarterback John Stocco won't be signing a free agent contract with the Green Bay Packers.

Stocco tried out with the Packers during last weekend's 3-day orientation camp, but it didn't lead to a contract afterwards.  Stocco instead is expected to head to New York for a tryout with the New York Giants.

The Packers also don't plan to sign UW-La Crosse basketball player Joe Werner who tried out last week as well.

Green Bay is expected to offer a free agent deal to fullback Corey White, one of the eight undrafted rookies they had in for tryouts at last weekend's rookie orientation camp.
