Natural gas prices headed higher

June 11, 2007 By WRN Contributor

The stuff you put in your car isn't the only gas price that's going up. There's also natural gas, which fuels power plants. Most Wisconsin plants are coal fired, but that doesn't mean we don't feel the effects of high natural gas prices. Charlie Higley with Wisconsin's Citizens' Utility Board notes that utilities here participate in a multi-state Midwest power market, know as MISO . Higley says the Public Service Commission should know — in about a year — whether or not or not the market is a good deal.
