Expect travel delays

July 4, 2007 By WRN Contributor

Air travelers may note some additional delays this week. It's a matter of beefed up security at the nation's airports, according to Lori Getter with Wisconsin Emergency Management, who says the increased measures will be most noticeable at the busiest airports. Getter says folks flying out of Wisconsin airports like Dane County and Milwaukee Mitchell may also note heightened security, and she counsels patience. The added security is in part to be expected on a holiday, but also a reaction to last weekend's events in the U.K. Wisconsin's Homeland Security Advisor Major Al General Wilkening said people should continue with any holiday travel plans but they should also remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to law enforcement.
