Stricker skips U.S. Bank Championship for British Open

July 12, 2007 By WRN Contributor

Madison's Steve Stricker is excited about playing in next weeks British Open in Scotland.  But he's also disappointed that he won't be able to play in the U.S. Bank Championship in Milwaukee, a tournament that he has grown on him over the years.

Stricker and fellow Madison native Jerry Kelly are both headed over to Scotland early to get some practice times in and get used to the time change.

Stricker is still looking for another win.  It's been 6-years since Stricker last won, but he's playing well now.  He finished second at least week's PGA Tour event, the A-T&T National and he's currently 11th on the Fed Ex Points leaderboard.
