Eau Claire plays for Northwoods League championship

August 16, 2007 By WRN Contributor

The Eau Claire Express had to win back to back road games to make the Northwoods League championship and that's exactly what they did.

Back to back wins on the road, in Green Bay, against the expansion Bull Frogs who just happened to have the best record in the league during the regular season.

Eau Claire won the third and deciding game of the series last night, 6-3 over the Bull Frogs and will open the best of three Northwoods League Championship series in St. Cloud against the RiverBats tonight.

St. Cloud has been to the championship series 6 times, winning titles in 1998 and 2000.  They're 4-0 against Eau Claire in head to head battle this season.
