Packers' Montgomery to undergo surgery this week

August 21, 2007 By WRN Contributor

Green Bay Packers defensive end Mike Montgomery will undergo arthroscopic knee surgery this week.  A timetable for his recovery was not given by coach Mike McCarthy yesterday.

Kick returner Shaun Bodiford is also expected to miss 4 to 6 weeks with an MCL injury.  That could end his career as a Packer.  Prior to the injury, Bodiford had a decent chance of winning a job as a wide receiver and kick returner.

Fullback Ryan Powdrell is expected to miss 3 to 6 weeks with a sprained MCL and tackle Orrin Thompson, after injuring his MCL, is day to day.
