Cop's wife says he tried to kill her

October 31, 2007 By WRN Contributor

A Wausau police officer will stand trial for trying to kill his estranged wife with his truck.

Prosecutors say 45 year old Chueng Lee tried to kill Chao Lee as she rode in his truck last September. They say he rammed the passenger side of the truck into a Shawano County bridge abutment, seriously inuring Chao Lee. The defense claims it was just an accident. Through an interpreter Chao Lee testified Tuesday at her estranged husband's preliminary hearing in Shawano County Circuit Court.
