Former Packers coach lands college gig

November 27, 2007 By WRN Contributor

Former Green Bay Packers head coach Mike Sherman was hired as the next head football coach at Texas A & M.

Sherman was A & M's offensive line coach from 1989-93 and then in 1995-96 under R.C. Slocum.

Sherman hasn't coached at the college level since leaving College Station to become an assistant in Green Bay in 1996.

Sherman became the Packers head coach in 2000.  The Packers went 59-43 and won three NFC North titles in his six seasons.
