Wisconsin a rising star

November 14, 2007 By WRN Contributor

Wisconsin earns a “decent” grade in an environmental report released today.

It's from the group Environment America, which did a ranking of the clean energy policy of states. Lt. Governor Barbara Lawton says Wisconsin is one of nine states to be called a “Rising Star” in the report.

Although, she admits it's not as good as the twelve states listed as gold or silver stars. Lawton says the report distinguishes the important work and leadership the state has provided and also provides a road map for what Wisconsin can do to improve.

Wisconsin did receive high marks on renewable and energy efficiency standards.
