Jenkins to get a shot with Phillies

December 20, 2007 By WRN Contributor

Former Brewers outfielder Geoff Jenkins is reportedly headed for Philadelphia and will get a 2-year deal worth around $13-million.

ESPN.com is reporting the deal today and say the agreement includes a third year option that could bring the total to $20-million.

Jenkins played 10 seasons with the Brewers and has a career batting average of .277 with 212 home runs.  He became a free agent when the Brewers declined his 2008 option of $9-million.

The San Diego Padres and Texas Rangers had also reportedly expressed interest in Jenkins.
