Drunk driver on cell phone

January 29, 2008 By WRN Contributor

Dodge County authorities got about as much cooperation from a drunken driver as you can expect early Sunday morning. A 51-year-old Fox Lake woman called 911 and hung up. Dispatchers were able to use reverse 911 and called the woman's cell phone. The woman, named Pat, told them her boyfriend had her call because he thought she was too drunk to be driving.

Pat gave the dispatcher a description of the truck she was driving and where they were on the highway. She eventually got off the phone after telling the dispatcher she didn't like driving and talking on the phone at the same time.

Pat told the dispatcher she was driving because her boyfriend was too drunk to drive. Authorities caught up with her at her home where she was waiting for them on her porch and told them she "knew why they were there." They found out her boyfriend had more than a 12 pack to drink and Pat "about a six-pack." She was arrested for driving drunk.
