McCarthy faces a coach with a street name in Green Bay

January 7, 2008 By WRN Contributor

The Green Bay Packers will be facing the Seattle Seahawks in the NFC's Divisional playoffs on Saturday and Mike McCarthy will be squaring off against a coach that has a street named after him, in Green Bay.

Mike Holmgren helped turn the Packers into winners again and before departing for Seattle, was rewarded with a street called Holmgren Way.  Holmgren led the Packers to the 1996 Super Bowl Championship and returned the following season as well, only to fall to Denver.

Mike McCarthy is 21-11 in two regular seasons in Green Bay, but he has yet to win a playoff game, let alone an NFL Championship.

So that's one of the key matchups on Saturday, the matchup of head coaches.  McCarthy is looking forward to matching up against Seattle, but downplayed his role in Saturday's game.

Saturday's Divisional playoff game will kick off at 3:30pm on Saturday at Lambeau Field.
