Racine man murdered by home invaders

July 23, 2008 By WRN Contributor

A 28-year old Racine man was murdered in his duplex on the city's southwest side early this morning during a home invasion, but Police say this was not a random crime.

The man was asleep with his girlfriend when the screaming of his mother sent him running downstairs, only to find two masked men, who forced their way into the duplex. The victim ran back up, but one offender chased him, and brought him back down.

Demands for money led to the victim being forced onto the same couch on which his mother had been sleeping, and where one of the masked men, on his way out, stopped and shot the man several times in the face and upper body.

No one else was hurt, including two young children upstairs.
