Marathon County farmer gored by bull

September 2, 2008 By WRN Contributor

A bull gored a Marathon County farmer to death on Labor Day. The bull killed 49-year-old Gary Fenhaus on his farm in the town of Wausau. Sheriff's Lieutenant Dale Wisnewski says deputies had to kill the animal because it would not let them get to Fenhaus, on his farm about four miles east of Wausau. "We were unable to approach the victim because of the bull being aggressive," says Wisnewski.

Fenhaus was pronounced dead at the scene. Wisnewski says while accidents such as this are not common, bulls can be dangerous animals. "They are able with a flick of their neck to turn over large pieces of equipment. They're able to do a lot of damage."
